This is a procedure to reduce the size of the breast and almost always tighten the skin of the breast to improve sagging. There are a variety of different scar patterns that can be used – vertical scar or lollipop, anchor or wise pattern, peri-areolar, melon slice and B technique.
The procedure is individualised for every patient and the scar pattern of choice will depend on the size of your breasts, how much excess skin needs removed and how much breast tissue is removed.
At the initial consultation with Richard, a pre-operative assessment will be made with some key measurements recorded of your breast and chest, alongside documentation of nipple position and skin tissue quality and laxity. Clinical photography will be taken to enable before and after images once the procedure is complete. We will ask you to provide medical history including any previous surgery, medications and allergies.
Finally a comprehensive discussion regarding risks and complications will take place, alongside a discussion regarding the post procedure and recovery phase.
